finally live: music beat of life

Music accompanies me every day. Music can be quiet. Music can drown out everything else. Music can be beautiful in so many different ways. Music gets me through the day in so many situations. Music makes me feel angry. Music makes me smile. Music also makes me emotional sometimes. Music just describes so many feelings. Music is life.

I am Oliver and I have music playing whenever I can. Sometimes only in the background to hep me concentrate, happy songs when the mood is good or sometimes really loud songs. Sounds eclectic, doesn’t it? Yes, that’s exactly how my very long Spotify playlist looks like. Actually, I come more from the realm of rock & pop. But over the years I added alot songs from many different music genres – which you might not necessarily expect – to the list.

In my blog I would like to take you with me on my musical journey. I wanna tell you about when I have discovered new bands at a festival, for example, or stumbled across special songs while browsing Spotify or a soundtrack from a movie inspires me.

To give you a feeling for what I’m listening to, I’ve put together a small, but colorful playlist with songs that I am currently hearing often.

Spotify-Playlist for this blog post..

As you can see, there is no shortage of rock: “These Days” by the Foo Fighters, “Fall to Pieces” by Velvet Revolver or “3AM” by Matchbox Twenty. Things get a bit more chilled with “Play” by Flunk. A band I recently came across. I am especially into this song. Now in winter, when you sit on the train home from work, look out the window, the sun shines in your face again after a few gloomy days and the song is playing – life is beautiful. “Oh, What A World” by Kacey Musgraves also fits in this theme – you can plainly see, country/folk works for me, too. Another tune that is thematically appropriate, but from completely different musical direction: a german song “Ganz schön okay” by Casper feat. Kraftklub.

I hope the little insight has made you curious and check back in soon to find new songs and musical discoveries.
